News
Several new thematic reports and articles based on PIAAC Cycle 2 have now been published. PIAAC examines adults’ skills in areas such as literacy, numeracy and problem solving.
In 2026, the Nordic-Baltic PIAAC Network will continue its work on strengthening the evidence base for adult learning and skills policies in the region. Two key activities are planned for the coming year: the publication of a new Nordic-Baltic thematic PIAAC report and the organisation of a Nordic-Baltic PIAAC Conference in Finland.
On 10th December, the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) II survey, conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), was published. Results show that the Nordic and Baltic countries score high, yet there are still important lessons to be learned. Lifelong learning seems to be part of the answer.
Articles
In August, researchers, policymakers and practitioners will meet for the Nordic-Baltic PIAAC Conference 2026, where they will discuss what the OECD’s survey of adult competencies means for the labour market, education and lifelong learning of the future.
