Sustainable practices for Nordic networks

The one-pager Sustainable practices for Nordic networks outlines how NLL networks commit to working more sustainably in practice.

The one-pager offers five shared principles to support conscious, balanced, and responsible choices in Nordic cooperation – and may also serve as inspiration for other Nordic networks, projects and organisations.

The five sustainable principles

  1. Plan meetings with purpose and awareness
NLL networks commit to choosing meeting formats thoughtfully, balancing the value of physical meetings with the accessibility and lower environmental impact of online meetings.
  2. Explore greener travel options
NLL networks commit to considering travel choices carefully, including greener alternatives such as trains and ferries, and to strengthening awareness of travel-related climate impacts.
  3. Choose venues, food and accommodation with attention to sustainability
NLL networks commit to making conscious choices when selecting venues, accommodation and food, with attention to environmental and social sustainability.
  4. Strengthen local relevance and Nordic learning
NLL networks commit to using physical meetings as opportunities to engage with local knowledge, partners and contexts, thereby supporting shared learning across the Nordic region.
  5. Reflect continuously and share learning
NLL networks commit to ongoing reflection, exchange of experiences and adjustment of practices, so that sustainable cooperation continues to develop over time.
